aboutHelping You Find Clarity, Connection, and a Path Forward.
BIODr. Damion Davis, LPC
Hello! I'm Dr. Damion Davis, a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and the founder of Davis Counseling Center, PLLC. I am licensed in the states of Texas and Georgia. I work with adults and couples navigating emotional, relational, and life challenges. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to create meaningful, lasting change.
I believe that every person's story is unique, which is why I take a holistic approach to counseling. Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I seek to understand the whole person—your experiences, relationships, values, culture, blind spots, and strengths. Together, we'll explore the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, gain insight into how your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and past experiences are connected, and develop practical strategies to help you move forward with confidence.
I view therapy as a collaborative partnership built on trust, respect, and authenticity. My role is to help you better understand yourself, recognize points of resilience, and equip you with the tools to navigate life's challenges. I also believe that culture is a vital part of our identity, and I thoughtfully integrate cultural awareness and understanding into the therapeutic process.
I earned my PhD in Counseling and Counselor Education from Texas A&M University–Commerce and have over a decade of experience. I have supported individuals and couples navigating a wide range of concerns, including trauma, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, major life transitions, relationship challenges, personal insecurities, and the search for deeper meaning and purpose.
I believe the impact of therapy extends beyond the counseling room. In addition to my clinical work, I am committed to expanding access to mental health education through partnerships with organizations, providing speaking engagements, and teaching future counselors at local universities.
Thank you for stopping by. Beginning the therapeutic journey is a meaningful step. I’m looking forward to connecting with you!

HolisticI see you as a whole person, not just a presenting problem.
Whatever brings you in is connected to the broader context of your life, and that's exactly how I approach our work together.
CollaborativeI create an egalitarian relationship where we work as partners.
Together we'll build insight and develop a plan of action that actually fits your life and your goals.
culturally informedI believe culture and racial identity are essential parts of who you are.
I factor that understanding into every aspect of the counseling process because your identity is not separate from your healing.

Areas of FocusWhat We Can Work Through Together
My work spans a wide range of emotional, relational, and life challenges. I work with clients navigating anxiety and stress, adjustment issues, depression, family issues, mood disorders, and relationship concerns. I also specialize in supporting individuals and couples through bipolar disorder, suicidal ideation and attempts, divorce care, and couples counseling. Additional areas of focus include Asperger's Syndrome, racial identity, self-esteem, cancer recovery, and trauma recovery. Whatever brings you here, you will be met with compassion, expertise, and a commitment to your growth.
Work with meAdvocacy
My commitment to this work extends far beyond the therapy room. I believe that access to quality mental health care should be equitable for all people, especially Black individuals and communities who have historically been underserved. As a professor, I am dedicated to teaching and preparing the next generation of mental health professionals to show up with cultural competence, compassion, and a genuine understanding of the people they serve. I am also a passionate advocate for individuals impacted by cancer, working to raise awareness and ensure that emotional and mental health support is a recognized and honored part of the cancer care journey.
